JavaScript and HTML5 – Oh, the Possibilities!

by Izenda Eng on May 21, 2013

Video Games and Reports: Old stuff, new ways.

We’ve been talking a bit about JavaScript and its future lately. Love it or hate it, the programming language plays a crucial part in some of the most cutting-edge projects on the horizon.

Can we talk about Epic Citadel, our age-old trial game, operating entirely inside a web browser? That’s amazing stuff. (It’s currently optimized in the Firefox Nightly browser.) The more you can do online, within your web browser, without downloading things to your desktop, the happier WE are. Technology like this is changing not only the way we play games, but how businesses track data and run reports too.

We took a little exploration of Epic Citadel, in case you haven’t checked it out for yourself yet (or maybe your browser wouldn’t load it).

Sure, that’s a really cool bit of insight into the future of gaming via your browser. But what does it have to do with our work over at Izenda? We get to utilize all of this amazing technology to transform data visualization and reports as we know it.

Here’s a little walk through D3 Charts, to give you an idea of the very innovative charts and visual renderings that are possible now and where they are taking us for the future.

What components, projects, and innovations in HTML5 and JavaScript have you most excited? Dreading or loving it? We want to hear your thoughts!
